Operational Issue in AWS region me-central-1

The AWS region me-central-1 has been affected by a serious disruption since March 1, 2026 (see AWS Personal Health Dashboard).

In case you are running bucketAV in me-central-1 be aware that the AWS service interruptions have an impact on the availability of the ClamAV and Sophos malware database update mechanism. Therefore, we recommend to turn off bucketAV in me-central-1.

We are waiting for more information from AWS related to the ongoing service distruptions in me-central-1 and will keep you posted by updating this blog post.

Please note, there is an ongoing operational issue in region me-south-1 as well. While we observe increased error rates running bucketAV in me-south-1 bucketAV is still working in that region.
