Partially withdrawing the latest versions of bucketAV

Update: AWS Marketplace fixed the corrupted CloudFormation templates. However, for new subscriptions the latest versions are still restricted and therefore not selectable when rolling out bucketAV for the first time.

Last week, we published new versions for all product variants of bucketAV. Unfortunately, during the release process, the AWS Marketplace backend corrupted the CloudFormation templates. The AWS Marketplace team identified the issue and is working on a fix. However, as the corrupted CloudFormation templates led to failed installations and updates of bucketAV, we decided to withdraw the latest versions partially. The following error was reported by CloudFormation when creating the stack: Policy statement must contain actions.

Partially withdrawing the latest versions of bucketAV

The affected versions are:

  • bucketAV for Amazon S3 powered by Sophos: v2.19.0
  • bucketAV for Amazon S3 powered by ClamAV: v2.27.0
  • bucketAV for Cloudflare R2 powered by Sophos: v2.6.0
  • bucketAV for Cloudflare R2 powered by ClamAV: v2.6.0

Are you installing bucketAV for the first time? The latest version is no longer available. Please install the previous version instead.

However, it is possible to update to the latest version for both new and existing installations by following the procedure described in our update guide. This is possible because we are shipping a CloudFormation template bypassing the AWS Marketplace.

Please note, that existing customers might get a notification from AWS Marketplace, that we are restricting the affected versions (see above). You can ignore this notification. The restriction will not affect running bucketAV installations.

We are sorry about the confusion and inconvenience caused by this issue.

As soon as the AWS Marketplace team fixes the issue, we will publish new versions of bucketAV.
